"Nne wake up !, wake up!"the voice said quietly I felt a soft tap on my back , I could barely open my eyes , I was really sleepy . "Wake up nne !, I open my eyes and saw my sister sitting beside me , I looked at the time it was 1:30am.. "What is it udo ? I asked , I was very upset , but I didn't want her to know because the day before was her 10th birthday and today was my 20th birthday so maybe she wanted to wish me a happy birthday like she always did for the past 6years... "I heard a strange noise from the sittingroom ,"she said , I could feel the shivering in her voice , "it might be bisi , you know she likes watching late night movies"i said, bisi is our maid she has lived with us even before udo was born so she's like one of my family member she has been offered to be sent to school by my mother but she refused and said that going to school is a waste of time and money that she should rather be given the money .. "Its not bisi, she is sleeping in her room "she said, I was scared already, immediately we heard the sound of breaking glasses, I became more frightened , I held my sister's hand and got up from my bed , I asked her to lie so I would check what was happening, udo held back my hand ,"nne stay back , lets wait , something bad might happen to you"she said innocently "don't worry I will just check" I closed the door behinde me and walked down the hallway , then entered the kitchen and carried the pestle I held it strongly , I was already praying for courage and strength , or I could just hide myself...as I entered the dinning from the kitchen, I saw my mother in the sittingroom breaking glasses , she was dropping them one by one the floor, I stood aside behind the wall watching her .

We approached their table ,He saw us stood up and hugged me ,brought out seats for us it was a table for four as if he knew I won't Come alone ,tony and ham were just seating opposite ,while I and jenny in the same position too ,he gave me the menu ,I ordered the most expensive dish there not that I know much about the dish,I just liked how expensive it looked "Winnie this is my friend practically grew up together ,he just came back from the states to see his fiancee" , he said smiling "And ham meet my girlfriend winnie we have been together for two years now and maybe will soon take the big step " he added.. I was really surprised i was still trying to figure out what was happening ,I decided to play along "Sorry I guess this is her friend ,what's your name sweety "?..he asked referring to jenny ... "Jenny ",,she said.... "Your girlfriend is very beautiful ,"ham said ... Tony started telling me that ham is like a brother he never had and their childhood memories, we started eating ,ham was just starring at me like I did something wrong tony may feel he was admiring or something,, then he joked about it... Ham started texting on his phone , I received a text.,"why didn't tell me you were in a serious relationship" ,to be honest I didn't know what to reply him,cos am yet to understand the game tony is playing, jenny was just enjoying herself ,while I was in a hot seat,... "Your girlfriend is a very beautiful girl " ham said again ,I was so pissed ,why he kept on repeating it ....tony smiled ..after the lunch, ham texted me that he will call me later..he then left after exchanging pleasantries with tony..I was about getting up ,he pulled me down forcefully..., "What is wrong with you "I raised my voice at him. Then he apologized ..he told jenny to wait outside for me ,so he could drop us later..she left.. "Tony I don't understand what you are doing ,what do you want from me,why did you tell your friend we were dating ,why are you so fake",,? I asked furiously... "Listen to me ,as much as you drive me crazy ,don't flirt in my presence ..,come on ,I will drop you and your friend "he said ,he stood up and left..I had to follow him.. What kind of trouble did I land myself into ,is it because of the money he gave me,I guess I'll start looking for where to get the money so I would give it back to him..all those charming oo,has started to fade...,he didn't say a word inside his car ,till we got home ,and the finally said.. "Just how you left me ..,"I answered " you ran away from me,am not a monster winnie ,am just a guy searching for true love"...b4 he could finish I hunged up ...my mum was already calling me , i sent him a text that i had a suitor as I entered the sitting room,I sat down ,the man was just looking at my every move, he looked very young ,like my sister's age mate... Maybe is is older ,looks can be deceiving a times.. My mum introduced me to him and he introduced himself as ham that's Abraham,.. Which  generation bears that kind of name... Then we left together outside ,maybe to know ourselves better, I was just doing that for my mum ,cos I was not even ready for marriage.... 'So chioma ,actually I have a fiancee , "he said ..not again.. I thought "My cousine said I should help him and I met my fiancee here in your town ,and I also learnt that girls form here are well mannered.."...he added , "So your friend ,can't come himself,"..I asked "Probably he is busy ,he Is a very busy man ..,so what do you think," He asked smiling ..he is not fine,just that he has a baby face.. What an attitude I thought ,he is actually a spoilt brat that thinks he can get what he wants and when he wants it .., but maybe I would make him understand that there is a limit to everything you do... I went home for the weekend,my mum was not around when I arrived ,I lost my father earlier that year,so things were a little difficult for I and my sisters ,some people say that my dad was unlucky having 6girls without a son. ,but one thing they didn't know is that he was the luckiest ...,I was actually the 3rd girl my 2older sisters ,are both married in their own homes ., while my immediate sister is in the same school with me even the same dept econimics ,,..my younger siblings still battling with jamb....my mum still takes good care of us properly as a vice principal she is in a secondary school there including the money my dad left too as a civil servant,so we were actually an average family... The next day ,I found myself in Tony's sitting room ...he came sat down ..,threw a pillow at me maybe he thought I was in the mood to play ..,
"How's your wedding preparation coming "?.,,I asked
He looked at me ,smiled
"I called it off ,its a long story ,queen was actually stealing from me ,I can't marry a thief as a wife.."he said ,as if he was defending himself from an accusation....
"Or you grew tired of her .."? I popped in...
"Well maybe its part of it too ,she is not always here ..,she has an appointment here and there ..,and am some one that loves attention especially from people I care about..".,. ..
"I see"..I said nodding my head
"That night I wanted to sleep with you , but I could not ,cos I respect you alot..,I wanted to stop ,b4 you slapped me..,I felt bad,maybe like a rappist or something.., any girl I have the opportunity to sleep with should count herself lucky ..,"he said smiling mischievously..

I had to tell jenny everything ,,the load was just much for me ,,...
" I told you to stay away from him,that he is a crook,you wouldn't listen ,maybe he called off his engagement so he could be with you since you are carrying his child,and your mother heard it,"she just summarized as if she saw it in a trance...
"Stop that ,its not funny at all,am not pregnant and also am not getting married to anyone "I said
"But that is what you wanted ,and now you are running ,"she said laughing.. I regretted telling her,she was adding pepper to my wound....
I heard a knock on our door..,I opened it ,it was the same girl I saw at tony"s place ,that said I should be careful..
"Hey winnie ,how are you"?  she said while entering our room...
"Am fine " I responded..
I gave her a seat,was still looking at her to know why she came,what she came to tell me,..sorry I didn't mention, she is student in my school..

"I came to know ,how you went home that day,actually I was the one that took you to the bathroom that night ,you were really misbehaving..,."she said
I really wished she has not said that in front of jenny..,I didn't tell her that part..,..,..
"I came back safely ,thanks "..I said "alright,tony is my good friend, but he has a problem with women ,I know about 5girls he proposed to and then after 2months he will call it off ,reasons best known to him, he is really into you,so my advise to you is to be careful. "She finally said.. Jenny was silent ,so I was too..
"I have heard ,what you said "..I responded
She finally left..jenny was just laughing at me..."you must finish what you started "she said and left too...
It was actually me ,myself and I in this....... Finally I had the courage to go for a lab test,I was not pregnant.. That one was settled....let me face the others

That was the worst news I have ever heard that year, so tony could say such to me....I pretended I didn't hear what he said.. "I want us to meet ".,I said "You are always welcomed to my place "..he said I guess he was smiling .. Its all my fault anyway ,if I didn't give him that chance , this would not have happened..... On that same day ....I went to a salon to to fix my nails ,as I sat down ,someone hit me on my shoulder .. "Why are you such an asshole ,you are a bitch ,f***k you ,if you know what you did to tony ,go and undo it ..,cos he is going to marry me ,whether is ok by you or not "..queen said ,shouting on top of her voice,. I kept wondering ,is it that tony called off their engagement or what...,if is true,then am in bigger trouble....but I still don't understand the kind of person tony was...but then I still liked him. ...when I reached home,I got a call from my sister, telling me that our mum said she can't reach me,that there is something important she needed to discuss with me ..... I became more scared ,whenever she has something important to discuss with me ,its not always good,the last time she discussed something important ,she told me she heard I was a prostitute in school...,her problems are just much.... Later that evening ,"like seriously !!!!" I woke up by 12pm the next day,..,jenny covered a plate of food for me and a bottle of water.., how nice of her...,..I entered the bathroom had my bath .., ate the food ,,put on my phone., I saw a text message from Tony., I opened it ..
"Am sorry ,didn't know what came over me ,call me if you get this text.."...that's the last thing I would do ..,I blocked his contact ,so he cant reach me again..so he was that kind of person ,,I wish I could just give him back his money, but that is not possible... He is such a douche bag..it now explains the girl we met at the restaurant.... He wants to use and dump me,and then get married to Queen.............
3 weeks later ..,I didn't call nor text him ,..I moved on with my life ..,but something was disturbing me seriously ,I have not seen my period.., if I was pregnant that would be the worst thing that can happen to me...maybe he had his way while I was in the bathroom.., cos I had no idea how I got inside there..I didn't tell anyone,I kept it to myself.....I was even afraid to a lab ..,what if I am pregnant ,what will I do...I decided to call Tony first to ask him....surprisingly he picked.., he still had my number ..,
"Winnie ,how are you"? He sounded like someone still in bed

My cloth was on the floor ,I was inside an
empty bath tub...,how in heaven did I get
here....did he do anything to me ,...I dressed

"Winnie open the door "!! tony shouted ,banging
the door ,I got out ,my legs were shaking, my
head turning ,I was feeling very dizzy ..
When I opened the door ,tony was on his
underwear.., how could he have done that to me
I thought...,
"I told you to stop drinking ,that you would get
drunk ,you wouldn't listen ,come and wash off,
you are a mess" he scolded me ,and took me by
the arm back to the bathroom ,he poured water
on my face and my hands too ,then wipped it
off ,and carried me to his room and laid me on
his bed,the bed was soft like cotton..,He
brought a cup of hot tea..,and he put a pillow
at my back for support when I sit ,he gave me
the tea in my mouth ,it was very hot . ,after
that I laid back ,he covered me with a
blanket..,but that does not explain how I got
inside the bathroom...I checked the time ,it
was ..it was late ,....
Some minutes later,I started feeling touches
,I turned ,it was tony,he was pulling my zipper
down..
"What are you doing "? I asked with a frown
seizing myself from him..
"What do you mean by that "?..he asked ., still
forcing my cloths off..
I didn't know what to do...immediately my hand
landed on his face with a slap..I didn't even
know when I did that ..,he stopped ,looked at
me ,got up ,as he was leaving the room ,he took
the bottle of wine on the table and threw it on
the wall ,it shattered ..,I was very scared
,that he might do something bad to me ..I got
up immediately ,took my bag and shoe left the
house ,I was praying so he won't come after
me...
Luckily for me I saw a taxi ,the driver said he
was not going to my side that night ,I paid him
a huge amount ,so he would drop me off,,I
entered he car,as he drove off I saw tony at
his balcony ,,..probably looking at me
,wondering what kind of person I was . ..but
that was the end for us ...I would never call
him again nor pick his calls....so he wanted to
rape me..or maybe smooch me without my
consent.. Men can be very unpredictable and
annoying..... ...

I didn't even bother telling my jenny where I
was going,she would not be in support of it.....I
prepared and called a taxi
..when I reached ,,..I entered inside ,he
was already there ,he waved at me .when I
approached ,he got up  ,brought out a sit ,I sat
,he called the waiter and made some orders,.. I
was just looking at him ,he is just a perfect
gentleman.....
"Winnie ,sorry about yesterday, I was not
expecting Queen,she always comes unannounced
..,our lives are just complicated.."he said ,I
was just waiting for him to land to his
point...,.."I don't know what led me to you ,saw
you in your school the day I came to drop my
friend ,luckily for me my friend told me your
name and gave me your contact too....,so that's
how I know your name and I won't tell you my
friend there ,not now....."he said ,,this guy
should go straight to his point I thought .,.."so
what do you want from me" I asked
inquisitively ,he smiled ..I love seeing

my friend "he said.._I was confused ,I didn't

answered ..immediately a girl walked towards

The next day that was  ,was in class ,I
could not even concentrate ,was just imagining
tony and queen ,how awful they look
together......my phone started ringing ,I didn't
bother checking ,I thought it was my roommate

lecturer enters,probably calling to know,..it
rang again ,I looked ,wow!!!,an unknown number
,maybe tony ,I rushed outside, someone that
saw me might even think I was being chased ...
"Hello". i said softly ...
"Winnie is the man in class "...jenny responded
quickly.. What kind of nonsense it this I
thought...and why was she calling me with an
unknown number ..
"No "!..I answered ..
I went back inside feeling dissapointed , maybe
I should just forget about tony,maybe God
wanted to help me through him,.
Immediately the lecturer entered the class
,my phone started ringing an unknown number
,I had to put it on silence maybe jenny
again......
After the lectures I saw 14missed calls by
that same number..wanted to call the number
.,the number started calling me ,I picked
waiting for the caller to talk first...
"Hey dear, its tony been calling but no answer,
hope you are ok"he asked with his charming
voice..
'Yeah i am ,was actually waiting for your call
yesterday "I said softly...
"Sorry about that ,I actually forgot" ,he said
,but I knew he lied ..maybe it was
queen that prevented him from not calling...
"Will you be free this evening ,would like you
to come or I can come so we would talk ,I know
you have a lot to cleared about"he finally
asked..."yes I would be ,we could meet up in a
bar or something "I said ,.he said OK finally
,,we fixed a time and venue....

Sorry I actually went today ,couldn't wait till
Sunday so a b**** would take him away from
me ....
He gave me his address ,I prepared in all
manner ,when I reached the gate of the
address ,I knocked ,the small gate opened a
man dressed in a security attire came out ,no
doubt he was the gate man ..
"Good afternoon sir,am here to see the man
that lives here" I said
He looked at me from head to toe as if I was
one of those beggers....
.....that dress nice....asked me to
come in ,probably the man told him I was
coming, maybe he was expecting a girl with a
range Rover .....he showed me the
door and asked me to go in and wait for

When I entered the sitting room ,
Wow!.. ..it was beautiful just
like a mini paradise ,cushions well arranged
,chandeller with different colors, even a teddy
bear ,I sat down on the soft cushion and
carried the teddy on my laps,,sorry to mention
he lives in a duplex made of bricks.....
I heard foots steps coming from the steps ..I
adjusted myself
"Hey dear" he said coming towards me
...damm!!! ..the guy is so cute
..he sat down ..

,wine,juice ,tea " he asked smiling ,I
remembered what always say about visiting a

took water...

Girl on the swing

I was walking towards the bus stop , things
running through my head ,where do I start my
explanations, how I lost it...this is something I
have kept so long ,waiting for the perfect day
to use it ..still waiting for a bus at the bus
stand ...suddenly felt a soft touch on my
shoulders ,I quickly turned back ,"hey ,I have
